TRANSPORT MANAGER
What is a transport manager?
A Transport Manager (TM) has a major role to play. They work for an operator to ensure that all vehicles are roadworthy and drivers rules are followed. If any of these rules are broken the “TM” may find himself in front of the traffic commissioner to explain why. That’s why traffic commissioners value the role so highly and always remind operators how important you are.
Transport Managers is a demanding role and looking after compliance standards for an operator’s fleet and their drivers is a challenge. So traffic commissioners know how hard transport managers are working when your operator gets a satisfactory visit from DVSA.
When things go wrong their Transport Managers may be called before the traffic commissioner at a public inquiry were they may be fined and in a more serious case may end up in prison.
